I think part of asking how to get good visualist gigs is asking yourself "what is a good visualist gig?" I think the answer to this varies greatly depending on the interests of the individual. For example, I'm not too excited about spending an entire night doing visuals for a rave/club night, but doing projections for an individual act is usually pretty rewarding if I like the act.
