I stumbled upon this post while I was looking for information on how to properly enable VGA under Boot Camp (cause I had the same synchronization trouble with my MacBook). Minutes later, I installed the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (for GMA X3100) driver update from the Intel website and all sync problems are gone. The only thing that seems "missing" is the automatic display detection (the notebook display used to flash a couple of times when I connected the VGA connector). So, try your luck, hope it helps! Cheers!
