Karate Kid AV Remix

For those of you who didn’t make the awesome CDM Party last Friday night after NAMM, I’m pleased to bring you a recording of the live AV Remix that I performed with Acid&Bass.

Hardware: Receptor VST plugin Player with Zounds of VSTs, Novation Remote 25, BCR 2000

Software: Ableton Live, Lucifer Plug-in (sending MIDI to Video Station)
Hardware: Mac, BCR2000, MPD16, Remote25LE, AirFX, NuVJ

Artist Caveats: This version was cut from the original 25+minute length to a more internet-friendly 7-1/2 minutes. Also, this is version one of the performance – we rehearsed only twice before this show, this is really our first run-through with everything (mostly) working. Comments welcome as we continue to develop the idea.

real nice. it strikes me that if you are using 3 computers you might want to use two for video and one for audio, as most basic computers can mix a few tracks of audio… leaving one for video with sound and one without sound…

yeah that's what i mean… why have two of anything? if the video has any probs then it goes down. if there's one on sound, one on video and one on video with sound, all bases are covered. also it gives each person something unique to do, making it more dynamic… just suggestions anyway. it obviously works already!

On the other hand, Leon – it's much easier to mix two audio streams than it is two video streams. But I do like the logic of one V+A, one A and one V.

Pretty cool, but these guys kill it. Every show it's a new film, director or series mashup live. KILL IT!

They have a website somewhere with the streaming mp4 and a mastered DVD of this. They've done star wars, lord of the rings, quentin, and several other sets….all next level stuff.

as far as techincal stuff, the inerlacing on the video is pretty out of hand, and distracts from the piece. Any interlacing in VJing is a bad idea.
