Ditto. It'd be natural for Ableton Live to move into VJ territory. Perhaps some genius M4L programmer can make some patches that make VJing with Live a real possibility. That would be mega sweet.

Agreed. I played around with Resolume3 for the past few days, and while it IS cool that you can do that via clips from Ableton, Resolume has crashed my computer more than it has by itself in the past 6 months (its not THAT bad!!!), which is a huge factor leading to me not being so sure about it. It is nice that its not over-the-top cpu heavy, but that kind of thing would be eliminated even more if ableton was to just include code for this in the LIVE software, esp since M4L is now available.
two things can now make Live perfect (since they just added serato.. :D)
Native OSC support, and Video tracks. they've got audio/midi clips, now all we need is video clips. please Ableton. please.

Completely agree I can't imagine trying to get all this working effectively in a performance setting. The ideal app would integrate the live midi channel strip with a window with videos where you can sync up video clips to tracks, so you could for instance build up a song live, drums (certain visuals), bass (other visuals overlayed) etc and then it could become a fully integrated audio visual performance piece. Needing a 2nd computer is a big drawback too as I won't want to have to rely on anyone else besides myself to put this all together. With all of these companies out there focusing on their niche I can't believe noone is designing an app solely for this purpose. we are all waiting, and these clunky setups are holding us back.

What we need is a user friendly app wich handles both A & V integrally, sort of a Vegas but for live performance, freeframe support, vectorial graphics etc. Resolume Aveue is going that way, but are far from it. I think Ableton should have done this a long time ago, it' so evident!
